2025
Location
Arrowhead, Colorado
A warm summer day in High Alpine Colorado. Soft breeze and the sound of the aspens quaking fill me with a grateful peace. My senses are aware of the smell of fresh damp earth, blue spruce, and apricot spice. Orange chanterelle mushrooms cover the meadow like blooming dandelions all around the alpine tundra. Monarch butterflies are “Dancing in the Wind”, gracing the blackberry bushes and wild flowers. I am filled with the blessing of only being present in the moment, time stands still. A fluttering Monarch silently rests on my bare shoulder. For me this represents a spiritual sign of the new spiritually internal changes entering my life. Monarchs have always represented the seasons of creativity, self-healing, strength, endurance, growth, and vibrational trust along my personal spiritual journey. A sense of being on the right path, leading me to my highest inner truth and wisdom give me a sense of my own inner compass. A knowing of the challenge before me and becoming the best version of myself is visualized. The monarch butterfly gently flutters away joining others softly gliding and dipping in the wind much like a waltz. I know I have been blessed.
I often use Monarch butterflies as a symbol of spiritual growth, healing and transformation in my art. “DANCING IN THE WIND” is my creative expression of personal spiritual growth along life’s journey.
