As long as I can remember, I have been magnetically drawn to the two universal extremes our incredible Blue Planet provides, her highest mountains and deepest oceans. It is here that I find my sacred spiritual connection to God and the Universe. It is here where I am inspired to carve our spiritual interconnections and share her grace. My art celebrates my connection to God, Angels, animals, land, and my stairway to heaven, the universe. It is with my purest gratitude to my Angels and God that I create my visions, through my art. Protection is vital to the spiritual and physical health of both our phenomenal Blue Planet, its spiritual beings, and the human race.
It was this mystical magnetic draw that led me to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. It is here that I could channel nature’s highest vibrational frequency through my soul and creativity. I was drawn to a small community, Arrowhead, tucked neatly in the high Rocky Mountains. Nearly 10,000’ fringing the Black Canyon, I found my own Stairway to Heaven.
“The Guardian of the Animals” is a tribute to God, our mountain, sky animals, 100’ aspens trees, and connection-gratitude to the Angels I have encountered in my 30 plus years of residing on this sacred mountain.
In my 30 plus years of living in the Rocky Mountains, I have been able to observe and interact with many of the animals that few have seen with the exception of multi-media, some rare and endangered. They see Lavina and I as part of the forest. Life thrives around us. My carvings and stories are tributes to their spirituality in God’s eyes.
When a mountain lion silently glides through my driveway, 4’ tail extended 2” off the ground, you know you are in the presence of silent focused power. Majestic regal elk clash horns in my back meadow and walk through my snow shed like it is part of the forest. Horns shed yearly as a representation of the renewal of life itself. A snow owl flying silently out of a blizzard over my head while snowmobiling at two in the morning. Talons down, yellow fixed mesmerizing eyes glaring and a 6’ wingspan gliding effortlessly, my Snow Angels. A lynx. Almost invisible prowling silently through the aspens. A sick chinchilla found in the woodpile, I was not able to heal, so soft and gentle. A red tailed hawk calls in the old forest adjacent to my home, sends my prayers on the tips of her wings up my stairway to heaven. A marmot, sporting a bad hair day sits high on a rock sunning himself in vigilance. Big horned sheep, seemingly suspended on the high cliffs, remind me of the personal endurance I need to face life’s challenges. Geese flying in a perfect V, stop to circle the house when hailed, equally sharing the burden of the air lift. If one is hurt, two stay with it until it is healed. The wealth of knowledge we could learn from the geese! One day I watched 23 golden eagles teaching their young how to fly. The gentle tipping of the wings, dipping and patience in training, is graceful splendor in motion. In some cultures snakes are projected as the protectors of the good and spiritual. I have to remind myself of this. I have been accused of being a snake whisperer. I encountered a black snake with a fluorescent tree of life extended along his back, for me a spiritual sign of their true meaning. When exposed to the light the tree of life disappeared with only a shadow trace. These gardener snakes have been on the mountain much longer than I. Some are camouflaged to look like gravel or lettuce. A few have diamond patterns. Some are solid black, long and sleek with black eyes. I have learned to live in peace with them. None are poisonous that I know of and they are teaching me tolerance. Coyotes have their young below a cliff in my back yard. The yipping of their young brings music of regeneration on the mountain every spring. I have a red fox with a red, yellow and white striped tail that sits with vigilance on a mound of dirt in my front yard, watching my every move with intelligence, curiosity and friendship. The deer file through my yard, especially for the thistles, grazing daily from spring to fall. Sometimes they walk into my garage or leap over the fence effortlessly. Beautiful striped chip monks scammer around in play. The sound of the gentle breeze quacking through the giant aspens is a melody that surrounds me with peace and harmony. They form a fairy circle of protective sentinels like angel wings. The persistent drumming of the red headed woodpecker accompanied by the soft breeze swaying through the giant aspens brings with it the harmony and reality of universal connection. The veil opens, heaven and earth are one.
These larger than life, “Sky Born Souls” and the high frequency energy that reside in Arrowhead, ground and remind me daily that we are all connected. The Rocky Mountains have the highest concentration of large native species on the continent. She is my sacred spiritual place. I am honored to be seen and accepted as part of the forest. It is my stairway to heaven, my inspiration to share what I have learned from the Angel’s and the sky animals.
The Arrowhead-Boffa Trust is held for family generations to come. May they find on their life’s path the peace and harmony that this sacred mountain has to offer. A place to regenerate the spirit and understand the universal connection of us all. Arrowhead truly is, ”Where Angel’s Walk”, a “Stairway to Heaven”.
